Torn poster layers and a lime arrow at a wet street corner beside a tram stop

Studio concept / Digital / Editorial

Local Frequency

A studio concept for a city guide, drawing its character from everyday streets and useful small details.

The thinking

Create a visual starting point for a local publication that feels close to the city and easy to explore.

Weathered posters, wet stone and a small directional mark provide the visual language. The texture creates a sense of place; the simple accent gives the eye somewhere to go.

Inside the direction

Three deliberate
decisions.

01

Look at the ordinary

A tram stop and torn paper suggest the daily life of a place rather than a tourist landmark.

02

Give detail a clear focus

The lime arrow stands out against the muted street and points beyond the frame.

03

Connect close-up and context

A second street scene broadens the view from a corner to the people and transport around it.

The direction in context

A different setting.
The same question.

The wider city study follows people along a transit route. Shelter glass, overhead wires and reflected streetlights add context for a publication built around moving through the city.

The concept, in practice

The visual language

A textured street-corner image and a Minsk city study with transit, pedestrians and public screens.

Possible applications

Possible applications include a neighbourhood guide, an events newsletter and a mobile editorial website.
